Pentecost is celebrated 50 days after Easter. Blessed Sacrament Church began the Pentecost Sunday English Mass with a medley of Praise and Worship songs led by the Music Ministry of the Emmaus Servant Community.
To prepare for a powerful out-pouring of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit on its community, BSC offered up a 9-day novena to the Holy Spirit, which had ended on Saturday.
In his homily, Fr. Felix Au said Pentecost Sunday is also known as the Feast of the Holy Spirit. In order for us to receive these gifts, we have to repent and ask for forgiveness.
Healing can only begin after we acknowledge our sins, repent and seek forgiveness. We have to start with ourselves, then within our families, community, etc. before we can invite the Holy Spirit to fill our lives.
There was a short prayer for healing before the Mass ended. Prayers were led by Pauline Lim, Head Servant of Emmaus.
Those in the congregation with needs to be prayed over, or ministered to, then proceeded to the BSC hall after Mass. Members of the Healing Ministry attended to them.
