Emmaus Servant Community launched the first of its series of Seminars for 2018 last weekend, with a powerful and successful Life in the Spirit Seminar at BSC Hall.

A Life in the Spirit Seminar(LSS) is designed to provide a guideline for us to live a Basic Christian life that would invite GOD’s blessings to be showered upon us.  I have come that you may have the fullness of Life  (John 10:10)

A Life in the Spirit Seminar aims to:

  • Help establish or re-establish or deepen a personal relationship with God.
  • Help participants yield to the action of the Holy spirit in their lives so that they can begin to experience Him working in them and through them.
  • Help participants to be joined to God more fully by becoming part of a community, or a group of Christians with whom they can share their Christian life, and from whom they can receive support.
  • Help participants begin to make use of effective means of growth in their relationship with God.

The Seminar attracted about 130 participants made up of parishioners from BSC, St Joseph’s Cathedral, St Ann’s Church, St Mark’s Church and a group of Catholics from Peninsular Malaysia. They also included the RCIA and Confirmation students from BSC.

A talk on Praise and Worship

Apart from the regular LSS topics, participants were encouraged to make full use of the counselling and confession times to prepare themselves for a powerful outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

Many participants were overwhelmed by their own conversion of faith. They were transformed after receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit, which gave some the gift of Tongues, feelings of Love, Peace and Joy, etc.

Some were healed from their feelings of depression, suicidal feelings, feelings of inadequacy and self – worth and even back pain.  There was indeed a powerful outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the participants.

Cardboard Testimonies of how some participants felt ‘Before’ and ‘After’ the Seminar

They were not shy to testify to the change they felt in their lives as is evident by their cardboard testimonies.

The presenters for the Seminar were from the Emmaus Teaching Ministry, supported by the Music Ministry and the Youth Ministry, as well as invited guest speakers to give Live Testimonies.

For those interested, there will be a LSS in Mandarin at the same venue from 16-18 March. More details can be found on this website.
