On November 17, about 70 students, parents and teachers, gathered for a thanksgiving potluck at the Blessed Sacrament Church (BSC) classroom. The aim was to celebrate the achievements of the students, and to thank the teachers and parents for their commitments to the BSC Tuition Ministry.

There was ample food prepared and served by the parents to show their support for the ministry’s event.

The gathering started with an opening speech and prayer by Mr. Simon Pui, who is the main coordinator for the BSC Tuition Ministry. In his speech, he thanked everyone, including the sponsors for their support to the ministry. He also invited the students to re-enroll for the 2019 academic year.

The event ended with a prize giving ceremony for students with the best attendance records for each class.

The BSC Tuition Ministry was initiated this year to provide education support for lower primary school students from a socio-economically challenging background. It was also set up to provide an opportunity for parishioners to participate in the church’s outreach program.

The ministry invites parishioners who are interested to volunteer as teachers to contribute to the ministry. Parents are invited to enroll their lower primary school children in the tuition classes.

Registration for volunteers and students can be made through the parish office. For further information please contact Mr. Simon Pui at 016-8766494 or Mr. Justin Ho at 011-51135788.
