As with previous years, the Advent Carol Service at BSC this year was a combined English and Chinese Service of carols, scripture readings, reflections and testimonies.
Fr Felix Au, in delivering his Reflections, informed that this year’s theme is: ‘He comes to set us free.’ Advent is a period of expectancy. It is about the coming of Jesus, the birth of Jesus, and a time of repentance and preparation.
In the present climate of slander and corruption surrounding us, we are to say ‘Yes’ to Jesus, and ‘No’ to darkness and sin.
In her testimony in English, Faith Lim recounted her journey of transformation. God had set her free from her bondages. All she had to do was to surrender everything to God and to have total trust in Him.
Philomena Lim, who gave her testimony in Chinese, talked about what she experienced on her recent pilgrimage to the Holy Land.
The Service ended with benediction and exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, and a medley of Christmas carols.
