BSC KUCHING: On Fr Lawrence Chua’s retirement, Fr Felix Au took over as Rector of Blessed Sacrament Church in February 2017.

He was brought up as a non-Catholic until his secondary school years when in 1987, his whole family was baptised into the Catholic Church.

After working as an engineer, Fr Felix left his profession to respond to the Lord’s calling to serve him in a special way.

He left for Rome to undergo seminary formation at the Pontifical Beda College from 1999-2003.

On 23 February 2004, Fr Felix was ordained a priest at a special Eucharistic Mass presided by Archbishop John Ha (now Emeritus), together with Archbishop Emeritus Peter Chung and 32 other priests at St Joseph’s Cathedral.

On that day, Fr Felix promised to ‘walk humbly with God’.

In true fashion and in keeping with that promise he made fifteen years ago today, Fr Felix humbly acknowledged that the changes in BSC since his arrival were built on the legacy of the previous rector, and were largely mooted by the faithful and carried out by their combined efforts. Most of what he did were only to encourage and empower them to pursue the positive changes.

Fr Felix thanked everyone who were at a small private party at the Sarawak Club on 23 February for the welcome, love, prayers, support and cooperation extended to him.

The dinner was organised by the Parish Pastoral Council with the various ministries, to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of Fr Felix’s Priestly Ordination. His parents Simon and Marian Au were among those present.
