BSC KUCHING: The Healing of Families Seminar (HoF) conducted in Chinese was held from 17 – 19 May, at the BSC Hall. Organized by the Emmaus Servant Community, the seminar attracted a total of 73 participants who came from various parishes in Kuching Archdiocese, and joined by participants from Kuala Lumpur.
The seminar was conducted based on the teaching of Fr. Yozefu-B. Ssemakula, who has explored the spiritual approach to family healing that has proven to be most effective, and at times even miraculous. Mervyn Jong, the presenter of the seminar also introduced Fr. Yozefu’s approach to forgiveness with simple and powerful prayers, related to healing of family problems.
The seminar had also attracted several non-Christians, a few of whom had claimed to have found answers to the problems they have been having in their family.
As with past HoF seminars, many participants felt the comfort of broken hearts by the Lord and for the first time experienced the presence of the Holy Spirit within them.
Recounting their experience at the end of the seminar, many had said they felt a struggle both physically and spiritually during the Inner Healing Session on Saturday night. Some experienced reactions like vomiting, trembling, and backache, especially during pray overs.
A majority of them said they felt ‘lighter’ and had gone home with a sense of peace. Another participant experienced a deepening of her relationship with God, and the fear of the unknown had been lifted off.
The event was a success, leaving the participants seeking for blessings and greater communion with God.
