BSC KUCHING: June is a month of celebrations, both calendar and liturgical. In conjunction with the feast of The Holy Trinity on 16 June, Blessed Sacrament Church celebrated Holy Trinity Sunday with Father’s Day.
Just as we pay homage to our heavenly Father, our earthly Fathers all over the world were also being honoured.
Fathers attending both the Chinese and English Sunday morning Mass received special Father’s Day gifts from the Morning choirs.
The day before, Fathers attending the Saturday Sunset Mass were presented with cards and medals from the Sunset choir.
To add to the celebration of the feast days, BSC’s own 11th Kuching Company Boys Brigade and Girls Brigade were in full uniform to receive blessings for their enrollment.
In his homily, Fr Felix Au said we are all created in the image of God and as God is Love, from the beginning, he is our eternal Father.
He urged the congregation to reflect on the mystery of The Holy Trinity, that we are made for love, for communion with the church.
Fr Felix had earlier celebrated the Sunday Chinese Holy Trinity/Father’s Day morning Mass. The English Mass was concelebrated with Fr Francis Lim.
After Mass, the teachers and helpers from the Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) presented Fr Felix with a specially hand crafted Father’s Day card, and a gift.
