BSC KUCHING: Today, 13 December 2019, marks 55 years of priesthood for Fr Lawrence Chua, former rector and now priest-in-retirement at Blessed Sacrament Parish.
On 12 December, the PPC of Blessed Sacrament Church organised a dinner at Fr Chua’s favourite restaurant to celebrate his 55th year of priestly ordination.
It was attended by about 100 parish ministry members, their families, close friends and family members of Fr Chua.
Appearing very relaxed, Fr Lawrence Chua thanked everyone for their presence and support for him.
When asked how he felt celebrating 55 years of service in the Lord’s vineyard, his response was: ” Normal. The first anniversary was emotional, but it gets better with age, like matured fine wine.”
